COVID-19 RESPONSE

Working closely with the City of Belmont staff liaison, our organizations coordinated efforts to develop a comprehensive DBDA/Main Street/City of Belmont "Keep The Lights On In Belmont" initiative supporting the Downtown Belmont Businesses in the face of COVID-19.  

 

AWARENESS & COMMUNITY SUPPORT:

  • Keep The Lights On awareness video pushing viewers to City informational website

  • City informational page added to City of Belmont website showing open businesses and special hours/offers

  • Keep The Lights On hashtag signs video building positivity & unity, highlighting open business, reinforcing City information website

  • Hashtag yard signs placed in front of downtown businesses to build community and bring awareness to open businesses

  • Virtual 5K fundraiser promotional video for social media

  • Belmont Strong t-shirt with donation promotional video for social media

  • PPE relief distribution promotional video for social media

 

FUNDRAISING:

LOANS:

  • City implemented small business emergency loan program under the Keep The Lights On banner

ADVOCACY:

  • Advocacy letter, sent to our State and US Representatives, encouraging legislation for small businesses grants and offering consideration of programs such as Main Street’s, as a distribution vehicle 

  • Informational letter sent to Downtown Belmont commercial property owners informing them of assistance they can receive and encouraging them to pass along any received relief to tenants

 

RELIEF:

  • $15,000 raised to date

  • 93 boxes of gloves, 2000 surgical masks, 75 1/2 gallons of hand sanitizer, and counting, distributed to businesses
